A sibling of the infant called 911 between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. D.C. Fire and EMS took the baby from the home in the unit block of Van Buren Street NW to Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Five siblings ages 10 and younger are with Child and Family Services in good health. Authorities are trying to locate a parent or guardian.

Sources told News4 there have been previous calls about this family, but a Child and Family Services spokesperson said there was no open investigation into the family.
