A cluster of thundershowers from the north and west swept through the D.C. metro area between noon and 2 p.m. Wednesday, bringing brief downpours and lightning.
While there's no threat for flooding or strong winds, a rain delay for the Nationals' 1:05 p.m. game against the Los Angeles Dodgers was announced around 12:30 p.m. The game started about 2:45 p.m. Those who want to keep up with the status of the game should follow @Nationals on Twitter.
The rain left the area by 3 p.m.
During the evening rush hour, the skies will clear, bringing back some sunshine and temperatures near 70 degrees.
But that's just the beginning of a big change coming to the area.
