A would-be shoplifter trying to get away with footwear from a Payless shoe store at the Ballston Common mall sprayed a can of Mace or pepper spray that left seven people seeking treatment for irritated eyes and skin, WTOP reported. http://www.wtopnews.com
Arlington County Police said the shoplifter discharged the spray Tuesday afternoon inside a mall entrance. None of the injuries is considered serious.
The alleged shoplifter got away.
