Police are searching for the person who stabbed two people near a D.C. bar early this morning.

According to police, at just after 1 a.m., two men got into a fight outside Patty Boom Boom, a bar and lounge on 14th St. near U in northwest D.C.

Police say one man pulled a knife and stabbed the other in the torso and shoulder. He also stabbed a woman in the abdomen before fleeing. Police described the suspect as a black male, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a stocky build. He had a beard and wore jeans and a beanie.

The victims, both in their mid-20s, were taken to the hospital. Both are in stable condition.

An earlier version of this story said that the incident took place near a different bar in Northwest D.C.
