A water main break left a Metrobus stranded across a buckling road in Adelphi, Md., early Friday morning.
WSSC crews were called to the 10-inch water main in the 1800 block of Metzerott Road around 4 a.m.
Metro officials say the bus driver was trying to make a U-turn to avoid the break. Chopper4 footage showed the bus parked horizontally across the street; large cracks could be seen in the roadway around the bus.
No passengers were on the bus at the time. The bus was the R1 bus to the Fort Totten Metro station.
Metzerott Road was closed between Riggs Road and New Hampshire Avenue for some time.
More than 30 customers were affected by the water outage, but water has been restored.
