Pop in an energy efficient light bulb at your house. You'll do it once, forget about it, and it'll save tons of energy. Little things like this go a long way!

Government buildings in Arlington County, Va., will soon carry labels detailing their energy efficiency.

The move is part of Arlington's Community Energy Plan, which aims to make the county a leader in reducing greenhouse gases.

The labels may include how much energy the building uses and how it changes over time.

The Department of Environmental Services plans to start adding the labels this year.

Officials said they hope the program will inspire similar actions by the owners of private buildings.
