David Touhey is the general manager of the Verizon Center and has these tips on how to get the tickets when you really want them.
- Update your profile on Ticketmaster or other primary ticket site BEFORE the tickets go on sale. Touhey says hot shows sell out in the amount of time it takes to fill out your credit card and personal information. Some sites, like Ticketmaster, will autofill your information if you’ve updated your profile.
- Log on to the site before the sale actually starts
- If you can afford it, buy them through a pre-sale by joining a fan club or using a credit card that gives you early access. But it will probably cost you extra. Justin Bieber’s fan club charges roughly $100 a year for the chance to buy tickets early.
- If you do decide to use a secondary, resale site, Touhey says you should pick one that offers refunds in case the tickets end up being fakes.
