You can plan a trip at the Travel and Adventure Show... or have fun right here. (Published Friday, Mar 11, 2011)

Prepare to feed your wanderlust. The Travel and Adventure Show is returning to the Washington Convention Center next weekend. The event, which runs March 17-18, features giveaways, travel workshops and hands-on adventure activities.

The Travel Channel’s Samantha Brown will be on hand, along with Patricia Schultz (author, "1,000 Places to See Before You Die") and Pauline Frommer. They'll all be signing copies of their books following their talks.

Activities will include scuba diving lessons (don't worry, the pool's heated), zip-lining and a climbing wall. The Busch Gardens Animal Encounter exhibit will showcase a lemur, an Eastern screech owl and more. You'll also find cultural performance and, for the adventures palates, a fiery food challenge.

    The show will be open Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
