    NEWSLETTERS

Giudice, a cast member of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," was released from the Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in Connecticut, where she had been serving time since Jan. 5. Lori Bordonaro reports. (Published Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015)

Are you ready for Justin TImberlake draped in the finest '70s fashions hobnobbing with some of the era's biggest music acts?

Timberlake his signed on to play Neil Bogart in "Spinning Gold," a new biopic about the founder of Casablanca Records, reported Deadline. The project is being spearheaded by Bogart's sons, writer-producer-director Timothy and songwriter-music publisher Evan.

Bogart was born Neil E. Bogatz into the projects of Brooklyn in 1943, and after a brief career as a singer worked at Cameo-Parkway and Buddha Records, where he was a driving force in the rise of bubblegum pop. In 1973 he struck out on his own, with the founding of Casablanca Records, with KISS being the first act he signed. He would subsequently move toward disco, with acts like Donna Summer and The Village People. As the Disco Era waned, he launched Boardwalk Records, making Joan Jett among his final signings before his untimely death from cancer in 1982, when he was just 39.

The film hopes to go into production before the end of next year, and there will of course be a killer soundtrack. With Timberlake in place, the obvious question is who plays all the iconic musicians with whom Bogart worked?

Timberlake can next be seen Oct. 28 opposite Amanda Seyfried in "In Time," as a man on the run after selling a fortune in lifetime.
