A year ago when I was brought here to help bring Capital Games to life, the goal was to get to know our favorite athletes a little better. The blog’s tagline said it all: “Covering the biggest personalities in DMV sports.”

The guidelines were simple -- “write about whatever you find interesting.” Luckily that usually coincided with what you readers found interesting, and so we were able to build something pretty cool together.

It wasn’t always easy. There were lockouts, losing seasons and rebuilding. There were times when there would have been nothing to talk about if it weren’t for Nick and JaVale. Seriously. I owe those two a muffin basket.

This will be my last post for Capital Games and for NBC Washington. I won’t be going far, but more on that in the weeks to come. In the meantime, I’m leaving you in the very capable hands of Adam Vingan.

Thank you for letting me entertain you for the last year. Hopefully you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have.
