Strasburg to Pitch Again, Saddened by Little Leaguers

strasburg rehab start

Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to make his second rehab start -- this time in Woodbridge with the Potomac Nationals on Friday, which puts him one step closer to the mound at Nats Park.

According to the team, Strasburg will pitch three innings or 50 pitches, whichever comes first.

Don’t look at his move from Hagerstown to Potomac as a promotion. The Nationals are working Strasburg on a five-day rotation, which means whichever minor league team is at home on his active day is who he’ll pitch with.

While the media will surely be once again given strict rules on how to treat the fragile Strasburg, it seems like he might need some protecting from his own coaching staff.

“I just get a kick out of him, because I enjoy teasing him to death,” pitching coach Steve McCatty told the Washington Post. “I feel like I'm talking about a guy who's in the Hall of Fame.”
One day…

As for Strasburg, while he’s throwing unhittable heaters to batting victim after batting victim, he is amazed at how much the younger game has changed at the wise old age of 23.
