The coronavirus-depleted Wizards signed their third 10-day contract in six days Tuesday when they agreed to terms with forward Alize Johnson after he was waived by the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 16, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson, a former second-round pick of the Indiana Pacers, is expected to play “significant minutes” against the Miami Heat on Tuesday with the Wizards down eight players due to coronavirus protocols.

Having just placed Montrezl Harrell and Rui Hachimura in protocols, Washington will have only 11 active players on its roster for the Heat game. The Wizards’ makeshift roster includes 10-day players Jordan Goodwin and Jordan Schakel as well as two players on two-way contracts Cassius Winston and Joel Ayayi.

Star guard Bradley Beal has a chance to start after being deemed questionable Tuesday morning, but the Wizards will be forced to play without Harrell, Hachimura, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Raul Neto, Aaron Holiday, Anthony Gill and Thomas Bryant.

Miami is expected to be without both Kyle Lowry and Udonis Haslem due to COVID protocols as well.
