Swimmers Rescued in Carderock

Rescuers worked to remove several swimmers from rocks near fast-moving water at Carderock on the Potomac River Monday.

The rescue was one of several water rescues over the weekend as the warm weather lured swimmers out to rivers and streams -- which were still full of water and fast moving due to recent rains.

In this case, four people were stuck on the rocks just north of the Carderock recreation area. A Fairfax fire boat took all four to shore safely.

Authorities are warning swimmers not to go into or near fast-moving water.
