The father of a man who was shot to death on Christmas morning has suggested that his son was killed for his designer coat.
23-year-old Quintin Tyrone Perry was visiting his girlfriend and his two young daughters on Christmas morning in Oxon Hill when he stepped out to go to a local convenience store. Relatives told News4's Darcy Spencer that Perry was on the way back from the store and was talking to his brother, who lives in South Carolina, on his cell phone.
Then, relatives say, there was a commotion on Perry's end of the line, the phone fell to the ground, and the line went dead.
Perry's father said that his son had received the designer coat is a gift on Christmas Eve. He also said that this was not the first time his son had been targeted. In June of this year, Perry was stabbed in the leg at the Gallery Place Metro station. In that incident, his attackers were after his phone.
