WASHINGTON -- Barbara Jordan Public Charter School closed early Friday after a child got sick.
After the student fell ill, the school sent the student home. Then, no doubt out of an abundance of caution, the school closed early and all students were sent home with a note about the closing.
D.C. health officials later determined the child did not have flu-like symptoms.
The school, which has about 100 students in grades five through eight, will reopen Monday. School officials are asking parents to monitor their children's health closely.
