Strong Storms Possible Again Wednesday

Strong to severe thunderstorms could move into the D.C. area just in time for your drive home Wednesday evening.

Heavy rain, damaging winds and localized flooding will be the greatest threats after 6 p.m., Storm Team4 says. Wind gusts of up to 50 mph are possible.

Weather alerts could be issued later in the day.

The greatest chance for severe storms will be to the south and west of D.C.

D.C. and areas to the north and east have a marginal chance for severe weather.

The storms may be isolated, with some areas seeing downpours while others stay dry. But Storm Team4 if you hear a rumble of thunder in your area, head inside.

Wednesday's slightly cooler weather and lower humidity will make the storms less intense than Tuesday's storms. Temperatures are only expected to reach the upper 80s Wednesday.
