Secret Service Arrests Man Blocking Traffic Near White House

Secret Service officers jumped on the hood of a car and pulled a man blocking traffic out through the sun roof near the White House Thursday afternoon.

The man stopped his car on northbound 17th Street NW, according to the Secret Service.

He turned the car perpendicular to traffic, stood up through the sun roof and started shouting about politics, a witness told News4.

Four Secret Service officers pulled him from the car and forced him to the ground to arrest him.

Officers charged him with failure to obey, the Secret Service said.

Streets in the area were closed for a short time but have reopened. Traffic returned to normal.
