Report: Yankees finalizing one-year deal with Kluber originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
After another disappointing exit from the playoffs a year ago, the Yankees made a move to fortify their starting rotation Monday.
New York is reportedly finalizing a one-year, $11 million deal with starting pitcher Corey Kluber, per MLB Network's Mark Feinsand.
Kluber spent the 2020 campaign with the Rangers, though his run only lasted one inning after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. He is expected to be ready for the start of the 2021 season.
Before joining the Rangers, Kluber was one of the best starting pitchers in baseball for Cleveland, winning two Cy Young awards and getting selected to three All-Star games. He has a career ERA of 3.16 to go along with over 1,400 strikeouts.
Kluber will join Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery on a starting rotation the Yankees hope will lead them to a division title and a potential run to the World Series.
