PD: Suspects Slashed Tires, Broke Windows in Montgomery Co. Neighborhood

More than 20 people's cars were vandalized late Saturday into early Sunday morning in Montgomery County.

According to police, the incidents were reported in the Olney area -- the victims reported their car tires were slashed and some windows broken with rocks. Police say some of the 21 victims had more than one of their cars vandalized.

The incidents were reported in the areas of:

  • Georgia Avenue and King William Drive
  • Cashell Road and Bowie Mill Road
  • Old Baltimore Road and Gold Mine Road
  • Route 108 (Olney Sandy Spring Road) between Brooke Road and Sherwood High School (300 Olney Sandy Spring Road)

Montgomery County police say a burglary was reported at a home in the 2800 block of Terrawood Court Sunday around 2:30 a.m. Though they're not sure if it's related to the car vandals, they said the burglary suspect(s) broke into a car parked outside a home, opened the home's garage using a remote found in the car and proceeded into the garage. Police say the homeowners were inside at the time.
