After years of waiting, Landmark Mall in Alexandria, Virginia, could be getting closer to redevelopment.
The city of Alexandria will launch its re-planning process on Nov. 14 with a series of community meetings. The city says the meetings will allow them to make some amendments and refinements to the redevelopment plan.
The once-iconic mall has been slated for redevelopment for years, but there have been delays in getting the project going. The city says the Howard Hughes Corporation, which owns a portion of the site, recently indicated they are ready to move forward.
The Howard Hughes Corporation has plans to turn the mall into a mixed-use property with apartments, shops and restaurants.
The re-planning meetings will be held on the following dates:
- Nov. 14, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 200 Cameron Station Blvd. in the Cameron Station Great Room
- Dec. 12, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Brandywine Living, located at 5550 Cardinal Place
- Jan. 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (location to be announced)
- Feb. 27, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (location to be announced)
