Officials in Frederick County said an 18-year-old drowned while swimming in Lake Linganore.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that its officers were called to the lake on Friday around 3:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they were told that an 18-year-old man was swimming with friends near the beach when he became tired and disappeared under the water.
The sheriff's office said rescue teams searched for the teen for four hours before locating his body at 7:45 p.m.
The sheriff's office identified the teen as Andrew Dantzler, of Germantown. The sheriff's office said investigators determined that the drowning was accidental.
