Metro to Stay Open Late for Game 7 of World Series

(Yes, even though the game is being played in Houston)

Metro will stay open late to accommodate Nationals fans watching Game 7 of the World Series — yes, even though the game is being played in Houston.

Nats Park confirmed that it's given away a whopping 36,000 tickets to its watch party, and naturally, plenty of bars and restaurants will be showing the game as well.

Metro announced late Wednesday afternoon that it will help get those fans home after the winner-takes-all matchup. Four stations near major watch party events will remain open for entry for an hour after the transit system's usual 11:30 p.m. closing time.

After 11:30 p.m., riders will be able to enter Metrorail only at the following stations:

• Navy Yard-Ballpark (both entrances)
• Waterfront
• L'Enfant Plaza (enter at 7th & D Streets SW or 7th Street & Maryland Avenue SW only)
• Gallery Place – Chinatown (enter at 7th & F Streets NW or 7th & H Streets NW only)

All other stations will be exit-only after 11:30 p.m.

Metro officials said the stations will be open late due to support from Pepco.
