A man died after being stabbed multiple times Monday afternoon on the busy H Street corridor in Northeast D.C.
Eric Lee Smith, 44, of Suitland, Md. was attacked about 3:45 p.m. on the 800 block of H Street NE, police said Tuesday in an update.
After being stabbed in the back, Smith was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. No information on what preceded the attack was released.
A short Hispanic man with a goatee was sought in connection with the fatal stabbing, police said. He was last seen wearing a pink and red shirt, black shorts and tan hat.
A reward of as much as $25,000 is being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the attacker. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department.
