Police in Fairfax County are examining what appear to be human bones found on the side of the road.
A man discovered the remains Tuesday afternoon near the base of a railroad bridge while walking along Furnace Road in the Lorton area.
It's unclear how long the bones have been there. A preliminary investigation suggests the remains belonged to an adult.
