Michael Patrick Charged With Kidnapping Bank Employee

Montgomery County Police charged a man after a bank employee was kidnapped and forced to let a robber into the branch with his keys.

On Oct. 29, a man armed with a gun confronted an employee of SunTrust Bank in Rockville in a nearby garage, police said.

The robber tied up the employee's arms and legs, forced him into the trunk of the suspect's car and drove to the bank, police said. The robber forced the employee to use his keys to enter the bank, officers said.

The robber confronted a second employee, took money from a drawer and fled.

Police arrested 45-year-old Michael Patrick of Rockville arrested Oct. 31 in Washington. He was extradited to Maryland and has been charged with armed robbery and kidnapping, officers said.
