Man, Woman Killed in Alexandria Crash on Ramp From Beltway, Police Say

A man and a woman were killed in a crash in Alexandria, Virginia, early Friday morning.

The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on the exit ramp from the inner loop of the Capital Beltway to the Eisenhower Avenue Connector at exit 174 at 12:16 a.m., according to Virginia State Police. 

A Nissan Sentra ran off the side of the road, hit a Jersey wall and overturned. 

Leon Johnson, 22, and 20-year-old Alysha Battle died at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation. The road has reopened to traffic.
