Anne Arundel County Animal Control is offering a significant discount on cats this week -- but it's not as crazy as it might sound. The “10 for $10” deal is not actually 10 cats for $10.
Instead, the shelter (411 Maxwell Frye Road in Millersville, Md.) will charge only $10 for cats that weight 10 pounds or more.
The promotion is an effort to find homes for more adult cats, which often get overlooked in favor of kittens.
Adopting a cat through Anne Arundel County usually costs $36 for a female or $26 for a male. The discount is available July 23-27.
Adoption hours for pets are:
- Tuesday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Wednesday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Thursday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Friday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Saturday 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
