THE CAINE SERIES: As part of the ongoing Michael Caine series (May 14-July 1) at AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring), tonight's showing is "The Quiet American." The classic features Caine as an American aid worker who finds himself embroiled in 1952 Saigon's brewing storm between rebel forces and the French occupying army. Caine received his sixth Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. 9:30 p.m.; $10.
