For years the Capitol Steps have been cooking up laughs across the United States.
The Steps members come from various walks of life but began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Today performers have worked in eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate experience. For the last 20 years they have been providing musical and political comedy.
They have used their political experience to record 28 albums that give listeners a chance to laugh off the stress of current political issues. Their latest album is called, Campaign and Suffering and it gives a comedic look at the Campaign 2008. Capitol Steps are now known nation-wide and have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS.
The Capitol Steps stay true to their roots performing in D.C. every Friday and Saturday night at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in the Amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this night of laughs are only $35 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster online, by phone at 202-397 – SEAT, or in person at the DC Visitor Information Center.
The Ronald Reagan Building is Metro accessible at Federal Triangle or Metro Center. But remember that it is a federal building and they will require you and your guests to present a photo ID.
