More than 100 cars were towed from private parking lots in Montgomery County Tuesday morning, according to police.
The cars were towed by private companies working for the lots and no doubt on the lookout for inauguration-goers struggling to find places to stash their rides before heading downtown, not the police.
The cars were in apartment building or shopping center parking lots which were marked for private parking only.
Each lot has signs posted with the phone numbers to call if your vehicle was towed, or call the Montgomery County Police Department non-emergency number 301-279-8000. Towing companies are required to provide the license plate numbers of towed cars and where those cars have been moved to.
