It's official: Patti Blagojevich is going Hollywood.
A family lawyer confirmed she has signed on to do the NBC reality TV show "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!" -- proving she will do anything for her family.
Does this mean we'll get to watch her eat bugs?
Considering she survived Illinois politics -- although coming through somewhat scathed -- "I'm a Celebrity" should be a breeze.
She's expected to make her way from Chicago to Los Angeles today, and into reality TV history. She'll tape her own promo for the show, but it's not clear whether she'll do the same Superman routine her husband did.
An NBC producer spotted Patti B getting an expedited passport on Monday, making it clear she intended to do the show.
Patti's presence on the show should spice things up quite a bit. Her voice was heard on the background of her husband's wiretapped phone, screaming expletives. Those taped calls led to his impeachment and removal from office as the Illinois governor.
Rod Blagojevich was picked first for the show, but a federal judge refused to allow him to leave the country while he awaits trial on corruption charges, including the allegation he tried to sell now-President Barack Obama's Senate seat.
Patti's lawyer has reportedly tried to shield her from the show, saying "don't go." But Patti said her family needs the money.
She could make as much as $80,000 per episode. Not that's something to bleepin' scream about.
