Chris Brown has something to celebrate these days.
The singer, who is accused of beating former girlfriend Rihanna, had a low-key 20th-birthday bash with family in friends in Virginia, People magazine reported.
The songstress was reportedly not at her former beau's side to celebrate his special day.
The "Umbrella" songstress appeared publicly for the first time since the incident on Monday at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art -- sporting a stunning silk tuxedo pants suit with a bow tie on the red carpet where she hobnobbed with Madonna, Liv Tyler, Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway.
Rihanna, 21, attended the gala alone but was spotted days earlier in her native Barbados with former boy toy Negus Sealy.
Brown plead not guilty to two felony counts last month in the alleged beatdown of the pop princess.
