Maryland Holds Public Hearings on Pepco Reliability

Maryland is holding public hearings on the reliability of Pepco

Pepco has been heavily criticized recently after storms left residents without power for days. Today, the Maryland Public Service Commission is holding public hearings about the reliability and quality of the utility company.

The first hearing will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Montgomery County Council building on Maryland Avenue in Rockville. A second hearing will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hallam Theatre at Prince George's Community College on Largo Road in Largo.

Pepco, which provides customers in Washington and Prince George's and Montgomery Counties with electric services, is attempting to reduce the frequency and duration of future power outages.

In an attempt to improve customer service, Pepco officials launched a website that customers can visit to monitor work progress and details of its reliability enhancement programs.
