WASHINGTON (AP) — Officials say they will decide Monday evening whether the fireworks display in Washington will be postponed due to bad weather.
The Washington Post reports (http://wapo.st/29mt4i2 ) that the National Park Service says the fireworks on the National Mall will “only be postponed in case of heavy rain, thunderstorms or high winds.”
Heavy rain is expected in the region on Monday. National Park Service Spokeswoman Nany Murray tells the newspaper that the Park Service make its decision Monday evening.
The fireworks on the mall are expected to begin at 9:09 p.m. Monday. If the fireworks are postponed, they’ll be rescheduled for Tuesday evening.
