2 Water Main Breaks in Md. Disrupt Commute, Water Service

WASHINGTON — A broken water main on a heavily used cut-through road in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, during the Tuesday morning commute will remain closed through the evening rush, authorities said.

South Osborne Road between Brentwood Road and Carroll Way will remain closed until evening, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said on Twitter.

At least 16 WSSC customers were without service, according to the WSSC.

South Osborne Road is a heavily used cut-through from U.S. 301 to Md. 4 in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

WSSC crews also were on the site of another water main break in the Chevy Chase area of Montgomery County Tuesday morning. Officials said those living in the Jones Mill Road area may have no water or experience low water pressure.
