You can score a set of free Nationals tickets Tuesday -- but if you're not a first responder of a member of the military, you're going to be asked to have a big heart.
Deals website ID.me, which offers discounts for troops, first responders and students, will be dropping 30 branded home plates around Metro stops and on sidewalks near Nats Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Anyone who notices the home plates and flips them over will find a voucher that can be redeemed for two tickets to an upcoming home game -- but the company is asking that you think of others first.
"There are two tickets underneath underneath each home plate that we're giving away for free. We hope that it's first responders and members of the military who take them," said ID.me CEO Blake Hall.
"If somebody [else] does pick up the tickets... we would just ask that they give those tickets to one of those members of the community who deserves them," Hall said.
Those who get the vouchers can chose from the following games:
- Saturday, July 19 vs. the Milwaukee Brewers
- Saturday, Aug. 2 vs. the Philadelphia Phillies
- Saturday, Aug. 16 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
In partnership with the Nationals, ID.me also regularly offers a 40-percent discount on tickets for members of the military.
