NBC4 is Working 4 The Community with our annual Backpacks 4 Kids/Supporting Our Schools campaign. Please join us and our sister station, T44, in giving elementary school students in the DMV a good start to the new school year. Our goal is to provide new backpacks filled with school supplies to at least 4,000 students this year.
Here's how you can help:
Donate new backpacks and school supplies* in person at one of these collection events:
NBC4 and our sister station, Telemundo 44, are #Working4You in our communities in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Drop off your donation in the lobby collection bin at UM Prince George's Hospital Center, 3001 Hospital Drive, Cheverly, Maryland, now through July 20.
You can also drop off donations during the following events:
Riverdale Park Station

Thursday, July 18 from 6 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Plaza at Tysons Corner Center
Join NBC4, T44 and the National Law Enforcement Museum for a fun family day, and bring new backpacks and school supplies to our on-site donation collection.
Saturday, Aug. 3 from noon-5 p.m.
Apple Federal Credit Union
NBC4 staff will accept your donations at the Apple Federal Credit Union's Kingstowne Branch, 6831 Sir Viceroy Drive, Alexandria, Virginia
Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 6 a.m.-noon.
You can also make a donation at any Apple Federal Credit Union branch now through Aug. 7.
3) Make a secure online donation here, and NBC4 & T44 will purchase and distribute backpacks and supplies to local schools, community centers, and non-profit groups working with elementary school students.

All monetary donations go into the Backpacks 4 Kids fund at the Greater Washington Community Foundation, a registered 501(c)3, and are entirely tax-deductible.
