A sexual assault on a young woman by multiple attackers left the community shaken up.
According to police, a young woman was walking in the 6000 block of Cherrywood Lane near Greenbelt Metro Drive early Saturday morning when several men approached her and confronted her before pulling her into a nearby wooded area where they repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted the 24-year-old College Park resident. They left her seriously injured with severe face trauma.
The victim was able to seek help and notify Greenbelt police. Detectives, evidence technicians and a K-9 unit went to the scene.
The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from Prince George’s General Hospital.
