Disturbed diners, spilled paint

There are crime reports, and then there are crime reports from Vienna, Va.

Few municipalities release the kind of clearinghouse of recent criminal activity that the Vienna Police Department does. The town puts out a "Vienna Police Highlights" report every Friday that's a rundown of "various incidents of general interest."

300 Block Lawyers Road, NW
Between March 23 at 8:00 a.m and June 25 at 11:23 a.m.
A resident reported that she had ordered prescriptions from a discount service. The prescriptions
were to be sent to her doctor’s office. The doctor said they were never delivered.

This case is being investigated.

Grand Larceny 12-09322
900 Block Fairway Drive, NE
Between June 01 at 12:00 p.m. and June 24 at 4:00 p.m.
A resident reported that a binder containing stamps was taken from an unsecured cabinet in his
home.

This case is being investigated.

Vandalism 12-09218
300 Block Maple Avenue, SE
June 10 4:00 p.m.
A citizen reported that while her car was parked in the parking lot of the Giant Shopping Center
someone had cut a hole in the convertible top.

Rite Aid
215 Maple Avenue, West
June 21 7:57 p.m.
An employee reported that a male subject attempted to have $200.00 in $20.00 bills exchanged
for $10.00 bills.

The employee refused to make the exchange and the subject left the store.

Amphora Restaurant
377 Maple Avenue, NW
June 22 4:16 a.m.
An employee reported that a male customer was disturbing other diners of the restaurant.

MPO Simon told the customer to leave the restaurant and that he could not return.

Domestic Dispute 12-09236
1000 Block Westbriar Drive, NE
June 23 1:43 a.m.
A resident reported that she and her sister had become involved in an argument that became
more heated when the topic of religion arose.

The sister decided she would call a friend or a cab and leave the residence.

300 Block Moorefield Road, SW
June 23 3:55 p.m.
A resident reported that she and her daughter became involved in a heated argument after the
daughter spilled paint on the carpet.

The argument ended when the daughter went to her room.

201 Maple Avenue, SE
June 23 6:41 p.m.
An employee reported that a customer had become agitated and began yelling obscenities at
another customer.

The unruly customer left the restaurant but not before head butting the front door.

Property Damage 12-09377

101 Church Street, NW
June 26 11:30 a.m.
An employee reported that a truck had driven over the sidewalk next to the driveway in the rear
of the business. She noticed that some of the bricks had been damaged by the weight of the truck.

The employee also stated some of the damage may have been caused by weather and ground
shifting.
