Police: Man Attacks Acquaintance With Sword

A man attacked an acquaintance with a sword, hitting the victim in the hand, Frederick, Md., police said.

Shan Oney, 31, of Frederick was arguing with another man Friday when he entered his home to get the sword, police said.

Oney pointed the weapon at the victim's neck and threatened him before swinging it at the victim's chest, police said. The victim blocked the sword with his hand, which was injured.

Oney is charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and carrying of a dangerous weapon. Police said they believe the attack was an isolated incident.
