A Subway restaurant in Burtonsville, Md., was the victim of a smash-and-grab robbery Tuesday morning, Montgomery County police said.

The suspect entered the store in the 15500 block of Old Columbia Pike around 2:20 a.m. by shattering the business' front door. The store's owner told News4's Megan McGrath the suspect stole $150 from a cash drawer in the store's kitchen. The burglar also took a safe and the store's DVR system, leaving no video of the crime.

The owner said the same thing happened about three months ago.

Since Nov., more than two dozens similar smash-and-grab incidents have been reported in both Montgomery County and Prince George's County. Police are looking into whether the cases are connected.
