Penn Camera Locations Get New Owners

A federal bankruptcy judge approved the transfer of the Penn Camera leases to Calumet Photographic Incorporated.

The stores are located in Rockville, in Vienna, and on E Street Northwest in the District.

Two local landlords are upset over the ruling, claiming it will leave them on the hook for thousands of dollars in unpaid rent.

Penn Camera closed five of its eight locations after filing for bankruptcy protection last month.

Calumet opened in 1939 in Chicago as a sporting good store, and then began manufacturing photography supplies in the 1950s.
