Police say three Northeast Washington convenience stores were robbed within an hour Tuesday morning.
Officers were first called to the 1400 block of H Street NE for a report of an armed robbery at a business. Police say three masked men entered the business at about 3:15 a.m. and robbed it. At least one of the men was armed with a gun. No one was injured.
Thirty-five minutes later, officers were called to a business in the 4800 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE for another armed robbery committed by three to four masked men. A similar robbery was reported minutes later at a business located less than a mile away in the 4400 block of Benning Road.
At this time, investigators do not know if the robberies are related.
