Sexting “Destroying Lives” in Virginia

Police hold forum on sexting

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Parents beware of sexting because "it's here and it is destroying lives," according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

So the department is holding a forum to educate the community about the threat.

At 7 p.m. Monday at the Kingstowne Library in Alexandria a secondary school resource officer, a member of the department's online child sexual exploitation unit and rep from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children will offer evidence of sexting's devastating consequences, as well as advice for detecting when your children might be sending racy photos by cell phone and preventing them from doing so.

Visit the police department's website for more information.
