Pepco Giving Away More Than 1,300 Trees

Pepco is giving away more than 1,300 trees to residential customers in Washington, D.C. and Maryland.

Pepco says customers can plant the trees in strategic locations to help save energy. The 18 to 36-inch trees will be delivered directly to customers.

Don't know where to plant your tree? No worries.

An online tool can help you figure that out.

To request a tree, you can visit www.arborday.org/pepco or call 1-855-670-2771. Customers can request up to two trees.

If you were on a waiting list to get a tree from last year, you will be first in line. The rest of the trees will be given to those who make their requests this year.

Pepco says it had given away more than 13,000 free trees through its Energy-Saving Trees program.
