A man died Tuesday night after he crashed his car in a wooded area of a neighborhood in Northeast D.C.
Officers were called to the 400 block of 56th Street NE just before midnight. When they arrived, they found the car crashed near Watts Branch, a tributary stream of the Anacostia River.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police don't know why the man lost control of his car. No one else was in the car at the time.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
