Driver in Crash That Killed 2 Passengers in NE D.C. Succumbs to His Injuries

Car struck guardrail along New York Ave. Jan. 7

The driver in a car accident that resulted in the death of two passengers has also died from his injuries.

The driver of a Mercedes-Benz, 33-year-old Antonio Holroyd, lost control of the vehicle in the 3600 block of News York Avenue NE about 3:15 a.m. Jan. 7, police said. The car struck a guardrail, and two passengers were ejected from the car.

The passengers -- 23-year-old Tyrone Tyrell Waters and 34-year-old Michael Waters -- died at the scene.

Holroyd was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He died at about 4:15 a.m Thursday.

Police are still investigating the crash.
