Cold Case: DC Police Seek Justice in Slaying of Man Shortly After He Left Nightclub in 2014

The family of a D.C. homicide victim are still hoping for justice more than three years after his death, and police have released a new video in hopes that someone will come forward with information.

Police said Daniel Calvin Short of D.C. had been enjoying a night out with friends early on Feb. 23, 2014, when he was shot shortly after leaving the Ibiza nightclub.

Authorities responded to a report of gunshots, and found Short, 36, gravely wounded in the back seat of a car in the 400 block of Florida Avenue NE. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A surveillance video showed several men wanted for questioning in the case. Police issued a lookout for a four-door gray vehicle, but Short's killer or killers have never been found.

Police released a new video about the unsolved killing on Twitter Tuesday, posting, "Daniel Short's family has been waiting 3 years to find his killer."

Anyone with information is asked to call an anonymous tip line at 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous text to 50411. Police are offering a $25,000 reward if information leads to a conviction in the case.
