Body of Virginia Man Found in Stolen Car in West Virginia

A Virginia man who had been facing charges has been found dead in a stolen vehicle in West Virginia.

Authorities are investigating the death of Michael Johnston Jr., 34, of Stephens City, said Capt. Donnie Lang of the Frederick County (Virginia) Sheriff's Office.

Lang tells media outlets that police found Johnston dead in the vehicle on Tuesday afternoon in Berkeley County, West Virginia.

A day earlier, Johnston was accused of assaulting a family member, taking her SUV and dragging her with the vehicle.

The victim was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Lang said Johnston had faced charges in Frederick County, Virginia for strangulation, malicious wounding, grand larceny of a vehicle and a purse, and credit card theft.

Lang said a second suspect, 24-year-old Autumn Miller, was charged with purse and credit card theft.
