Some storms are popping up in the D.C. region Tuesday evening.

Severe thunderstorms went through parts of Culpeper and Spotsylvania counties in Virginia earlier in the evening.

The peak time for rain and thunder runs from now until about 8 p.m., Storm Team4 says.

Gusty winds and hail are possible with stronger storms, Storm Team4 says.

The skies are set to clear out overnight, then a cold front will bring noticeably cooler weather.

The forecast for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday looks sunny and mild with afternoon highs in the low 70s and overnight lows in the low to mid-50s.

Clouds will likely begin to return on Saturday and rain chances return Sunday evening into Monday.
